The polymer characterization laboratory
is housed with state of the art thermal analysis
equipment, including TA Instruments Q100 DSC,
capable of modulated DSC and equipped with
refrigerated cooling, and Q500 TGA. This
laboratory is further equipped with the best
rotational rheometer commercially available, the
Anton Paar MCR501. This melt rheometer is
capable of operation in both controlled strain
and controlled stress modes, both oscillatory
and steady, and is capable of both shear and
elongational deformation geometries, the latter
being enabled by the SER platform from Xpansion
Instruments, Inc.
